Two intense years of FIRST LEGO League

From 2016 to 2018 I participated very successfully in the robotics competition FIRST LEGO League. That time had a huge impact on me as a person and also taught me important technical and professional skills.

Each year, around 30000 teams from all over the world are participating in this competition.

In my team “brickSAPplied” we were seven highly motivated pupils who spent a lot of our free time building and programming robots.

Here is a list of our most important achievements during that time:

Season 2016/17:

  • 1st place Robot Performance (European Level)
  • 2nd place Robot Design (European level)
  • 3rd place Champions Award (European level)
  • 1st place Robot Performance (world final)
  • 1st place Strategy & Innovation (world final)

Season 2017/18:

  • 1st place Best Teamwork (European level)
  • 2nd place Champions Award (European level)
  • 3rd place Robot Performance (world final)
  • 3rd place Champions Award (world final)

To inspire other teams and share what we accomplished, we uploaded a couple of videos to our YouTube Channel. We reached a lot of people (120000 clicks in total) and received great feedback. Here are some examples of comments under our world record video:

Without FIRST LEGO League I would not be the person I am today. That’s why I am trying to give back as much as possible and enable others to have similar experiences. For two years I coached the team “Heisenbots” at my highschool. Further, I volunteered in over 20 local, national and international competitions as a referee and judge for robot design.
